Bayern Munich will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run in the Bundesliga when they travel to Red Bull Arena to face RB Leipzig on Saturday. 

Ole Werner’s side are currently third in the Bundesliga table, four points behind Borussia Dortmund, having played a game less.

Bayern are in a league of their own and sit top of the league table, 11 points ahead of Dortmund after 17 matches.

Leipzig suffered a heavy defeat against Bayern in the 2025-26 opening Bundesliga game, losing 6-0 at the Allianz Arena.

However, Leipzig have regrouped nicely under Ole Werner, and despite losing some key players in the summer, they have had a relatively solid campaign so far.

Die Roten Bullen returned to winning ways after losing two games in a row, beating Freiburg 2-0 in their previous match.

They have boasted a record of 10 wins, two draws and four losses so far in the Bundesliga, and finishing in the top three is the minimum requirement for them.

Leipzig have a strong record at home this season, winning seven of their eight matches, and the only match they failed to win was a 3-1 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen.

Since suffering a 3-1 defeat against Arsenal in the Champions League, Bayern have picked up eight wins and a draw in their last nine games in all competitions.

Vincent Kompany’s side are looking invincible at the moment, having dropped only two points all season in the Bundesliga.

Bayern have recorded seven wins and a draw from away from home, and it will require a Herculean effort from Leipzig to get something from the game.

The Bavarian giants have scored 66 goals this season, compared to 32 for Leipzig, underscoring their dominant force.

In defence, they have conceded only 13 goals, though they have kept a clean sheet in just one of their last five games.

The home side is likely to miss winger Johan Bakayoko, who is dealing with a calf injury and is unlikely to take any part in the game.

Assan Ouedraogo has sustained a new injury, and he is unavailable for selection for this game.

For Bayern, Kompany will definitely miss Josip Stanisic, while Alphonso Davies and Joshua Kimmich are also doubtful, although the latter could yet be ready for the game.

Sacha Boey remains absent with a severe gastrointestinal problem.

Jamal Musiala has started training after a long injury lay-off, and he will be gradually integrated into the side.

The new coach of Leipzig has now implemented a new style, which has worked for them, but they do not have the quality of last season. So, Bayern will win as they have been doing in their recent matches. I think Bayern will win 2-0. They have a solid offensive setup, and they always score.
