RC Lens women part company with Sarah M'Barek after relegation | OneFootball

RC Lens have parted company with women's team coach Sarah M'Barek after relegation. The club said in a statement on Monday that she was leaving after six years at Lens.

M'Barek had been in post since 2020, spending six years at the club.

Under her watch the side stabilised in Seconde Ligue, and reached the Coupe de France quarter-finals in 2023-2024.

They then won promotion to the Arkema Première Ligue at the end of 2024-2025, the first top-flight promotion in the women's team’s history.

This season they finished 11th of 12 in the Arkema Première Ligue and went down on goal difference, with Montpellier at -17 and Lens at -30. The drop has surely proved decisive for the coach’s future.
