Real Betis star suffers fresh fitness setback before Real Sociedad | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Real Betis have on Wednesday been forced to sweat over the wellbeing of a leading member of the club’s defensive ranks.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Marc Bartra as the player in question.

Stopper Bartra was for his part forced to sit out this past weekend, as Real Betis stuttered to a 2-2 draw with Levante.

As much came with the former Barcelona man having been struggling with a muscular complaint.

Bartra managed his return to group training on Tuesday, giving rise to hope of a return to competitive duties against Real Sociedad later this week.

As alluded to above, however, on Wednesday, the news stemming from Betis’ training base was altogether less encouraging.

As per a report from MD:

‘The Catalan centre-back, now suffering from lower back pain, was absent from the training session with the group and is a doubt for Friday’s clash with Real Sociedad.’
