Dani Ceballos, in all practicality, should not have been a Real Madrid player at the moment for the club had all but completed his sale in the summer.

At a point where Marseille almost had it certain that the player was making the switch to France, Ceballos pulled out of the deal.

Eventually, the player did not find another suitor and ended up remaining in the Spanish capital, something he does not see in bad light given that staying at the club was always an option on his radar.

Earlier this week, the 29-year-old celebrated his 150th win as a Real Madrid player when the team took apart Kairat Almaty in the UEFA Champions League, making it a special occasion for him.

Ceballos speaks out

Speaking to the club media after his special achievement, the Real Madrid midfielder commented on what it meant to him to hit the milestone and what he had planned coming up.

“It is very special to reach 150 victories with Real Madrid. This club has given me practically everything and I hope many more victories will come.”

Ceballos was then asked how he felt on a physical level, especially given that persistent injuries have not helped his cause in recent years.

“Physically I feel much better. The beginning was a little complicated, but now I feel good physically and mentally and that is very important,” he said.

Finally, the midfield player spoke out on Real Madrid’s objective heading into the game against Villarreal this weekend which will be the team’s final game before the international break.

“We have to finish this phase of matches with the best possible sensations and add the three points at home.”

“It is important for us to go to the break as high as possible and then face the calendar that is coming again, which is very tight,” he added.
