Enzo Fernandez may be admired within Real Madrid, but a summer move for the Chelsea midfielder is currently considered unrealistic by the club’s hierarchy.

According to journalist Jorge Picon (h/t Bernabeu Digital), the possibility of an Enzo Fernandez Real Madrid transfer is ‘not even on the table’ at this stage, with Los Blancos convinced that Chelsea will never lower their demands to a level they consider reasonable.

The Argentine midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu in recent weeks, especially after reports suggested that Jose Mourinho views him as a priority target to reinforce the midfield. 

However, the reality appears to be very different.

Real Madrid are aware that signing a player of Fernandez’s calibre would require an enormous financial commitment, one they are unwilling to make under current circumstances.

Enzo Fernandez transfer not feasible for Real Madrid

The Enzo Fernandez transfer rumours gathered momentum after comments from his representative Javier Pastore reignited speculation over a potential move.

Speaking about the midfielder’s future, Pastore admitted: “Real Madrid has sounded out, Real Madrid likes the best players and Enzo has been one of the best of the year this year.

“He is a player that Real Madrid likes and he likes Real Madrid, as he also likes other clubs that are there. Now we have to wait a little while.”

Despite those remarks, Real Madrid’s position remains unchanged.

Jorge Picon has reported that the Enzo Fernandez Real Madrid operation is currently unfeasible, mainly because the Spanish giants believe Chelsea’s asking price will remain above €100 million.

Hence, the only possible avenue would be a highly favourable payment structure agreed between both clubs, but sources suggest such a scenario is highly unlikely.

Real Madrid have already clarified that they have not taken any concrete steps towards signing the Argentine international, effectively distancing themselves from the growing speculation.

Chelsea valuation remains a major obstacle

The financial aspect is the biggest stumbling block in any potential Enzo Fernandez to Real Madrid move.

Chelsea reportedly value the midfielder at around €140 million, a figure Real Madrid have no intention of approaching.

The club’s recruitment policy in recent years has focused on maintaining financial stability, avoiding blockbuster deals unless they fit perfectly within their long-term planning.

At the moment, Real Madrid also face another problem: squad space.

The current roster is already overcrowded and club officials are prioritising departures before considering additional signings.

However, moving players on has proven difficult this summer, with several members of the squad reluctant to leave.

Without a significant sale, accommodating a player like Fernandez becomes virtually impossible.

That reality explains why Real Madrid transfer news surrounding the Chelsea midfielder has been dismissed internally.
