In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Real Madrid are set to rival Barcelona for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. It has been stated that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to sign the English centre-back on a free transfer next summer.
Guehi has made a solid start to this campaign as he has already produced a run of impressive performances at the centre of Oliver Glasner’s defence. The English talent has participated in 13 matches for the Eagles this season, scoring one goal and grabbing two assists in all competitions.
The 25-year-old has been a reliable presence on the defensive end of the field and deserves credit for making 16 tackles, nine interceptions and 40 clearances in the Premier League. He has even been excellent when distributing possession from the back after completing 86% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at Selhurst Park will run out at the end of this campaign, which could open the door for Los Blancos to snap him up on a free transfer next summer.

Guehi is a solid tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and can even play his way out from the back.
The English talent has proven himself to be a consistent performer in the Premier League. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga if Los Blancos manage to sign him next year.
Guehi would no doubt enhance the quality of Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso’s defence. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting place at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
At 25, Guehi has his peak years ahead of him. Furthermore, he is currently on an expiring contract, which makes him a great choice for the Madrid giants to pursue in 2026. Guehi could even help Los Blancos compete for some major honours in the coming years. Thus, Alonso would be wise to go all out to get him on board next summer.
