Real Madrid have intensified their role in the Negreira case, asking the judge to obtain Barcelona’s invoices and internal compliance records.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the request covers Barcelona’s compliance programme from 2010 to 2018 to verify what anti-corruption controls existed and whether they were applied.
The club, led by Florentino Pérez, also contends that the Spanish federation and the referees’ committee had structural deficiencies that enabled the system for years, pointing to an evaluation model based on arbitrariness and clientelism, described in court as systemic corruption.
Madrid’s lawyers are pressing on the legal front while urging action within sport, with UEFA the only body able to sanction Barcelona, and FIFA asked to set out a position.
They have further sought that the Guardia Civil supply invoices, payment authorisations, internal processes and audits relating to Tresep, Radamanto and Best Norton, which documents say were requested but not added to the case file.
