Liverpool’s Egyptian King, Mohamed Salah, has been backed by Real Madrid legend Fernando Hierro to make the move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. The 33-year-old attacker is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season and his future is set to receive attention.

The prolific attacker is leaving the Reds after an illustrious spell at Anfield but performance levels dropped this season and that became the reason of him and the club making the decision to part ways.

However, a stunning switch to the Spanish capital might just be the ultimate plot twist.

To understand why this move could happen, you have to look at the current chaos in Madrid. Los Blancos are staring down the barrel of a bitter reality, a second consecutive trophyless season.

Real Madrid are on the lookout to make major changes

Having recently been dumped out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich and currently trailing arch-rivals Barcelona by nine points in the La Liga title race, the mood at the Santiago Bernabeu is incredibly restless.

Hierro is an admirer of Salah and feels that he could make the difference if he joins Real Madrid. Hierro said, as reported by TEAMtalk:

“Why not? Of course, I would like it. Mohamed Salah is an extraordinary player in every sense.”

“No one can deny his great impact at Liverpool and his achievements. I would love to see him at Real Madrid; everything is possible in football,” he added.

The former Real Madrid star continued:

“Salah is the kind of player any club in the world would want to sign because he is exceptional and has a direct impact on the game.

“He’s not just a great player – he’s a true football phenomenon who makes the difference wherever he is.”

Liverpool star is unlikely to move to the Bernabeu

The Spanish giants have too many options in attack right now, perhaps what they need first and foremost is an experienced player in the midfield.

As for Salah, Saudi Pro League clubs have chased him for a long time and they want to make him the face of their league.

The financial incentives on offer from Saudi could be too lucrative for Salah to turn down.

As far as Real Madrid are concerned, it seems highly unlikely that they will target a move for a 33-year-old player, someone who has already played the best football of his career.

The Spanish giants are known for targeting the biggest names in football and even though Salah is still one of them, a move to join Real Madrid is just Hierro’s wish at the moment, rather than a reality.
