The door to the winter transfer market has been slammed shut at the Santiago Bernabeu, even though there’s a week still remaining.
It appears the recent resurgence in form, highlighted by victories against Villarreal and Monaco, alongside a tangible improvement in organisation and attitude, has convinced the Real Madrid hierarchy that no mid-season reinforcements are necessary.
While the possibility of a last-minute loan was arguably on the table weeks ago, it is now considered nonexistent. The club’s decision is final: this squad will finish the season as is, reports Defensa Central.
Despite the noise from a section of the fanbase, the board remains calm. They are fully convinced that the current roster is capable of competing for both La Liga and the Champions League.

While they acknowledge that certain positions will need strengthening in the summer, they reject the pessimism surrounding the team’s depth, believing there is enough talent to navigate the remaining competitions.
This stance is fully supported by new head coach Alvaro Arbeloa, who has positioned himself as a strict adherent to the club’s institutional line – a stark contrast to his predecessor.
While Xabi Alonso publicly hinted at the need for reinforcements before his departure, Arbeloa has acted as the perfect yes man, consistently reaffirming the thoughts shared by Florentino Perez and the board members.
As such, Arbeloa doesn’t want any new signings and is ready to look towards the academy to full any potential gaps.
Arbeloa believes the team can fight for everything. He is banking on the physical preparation under Antonio Pintus for the final stretch and is pragmatic about his tactics.
