Real Madrid boss Alonso provides early Kylian Mbappé injury update | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso late on Saturday provided a brief insight into the wellbeing of star attacker Kylian Mbappé.

This comes after the Frenchman set alarm bells sounding across Spain’s capital.

Mbappé for his part featured from the off last night, as Real Madrid played host to Villarreal in a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done, Los Blancos emerged on the right side of a 3-1 result, to take their place back atop the table.

The club’s top scorer, meanwhile, rounded out the scoring inside the closing ten minutes.

In the aftermath of as much, however, Mbappé quickly pulled up in discomfort, before limping out of proceedings and straight down the tunnel at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Speaking to the media in his post-match press conference, the subject of his star frontman’s situation was in turn put to manager Xabi Alonso.

And Real Madrid’s headmaster went on to respond:

“Kylian Mbappé’s ankle? I can’t say anything now for sure. We will see.”
