Real Madrid are weighing a marquee signing, with João Neves among the names under consideration, a move that could also benefit Benfica via FIFA’s solidarity payments.

According to Glorioso 1904, Florentino Pérez is willing to consider a record bid in the region of €150 million for a galáctico, with João Neves and Vitinha fitting the profile after starring for PSG and winning two consecutive Champions Leagues.

Under FIFA’s rules, training clubs receive a percentage of subsequent fees for moves covering the player’s development years. As the 21-year-old came through Seixal, Benfica would be due a notable share if he were to be transferred.

On a fee of €150 million, Benfica could collect around €four and a half million from this mechanism. It would add to the income already generated by his switch to PSG and the targets he has since met in Paris.

Other names linked to Florentino Pérez’s project include Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué, Bradley Barcola, Jamal Musiala and Julián Álvarez. Even so, João Neves is gaining traction among Madrid supporters, and any deal, if it materialises, would again please Rui Costa’s board.
