Real Madrid consider move for Jürgen Klopp | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid have earmarked former Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp as an option to replace Xabi Alonso on the club’s bench.

This of course comes amid mounting uncertainty surrounding Alonso’s position in Spain’s capital.

Fresh off a defeat at the hands of Manchester City on Wednesday, Real Madrid are understood to be giving increasing consideration to a change of manager.

Los Blancos find themselves in the midst of a stretch of just two wins from eight in all competitions, trailing arch rivals Barcelona by four points in the La Liga title race, too.

Some, in turn, have gone as far as to suggest that anything less than a victory against Deportivo Alavés this weekend is likely to see Alonso sent on his way.

And as alluded to above, should this prove the case, a high-profile target to act as the Spaniard’s successor has already been identified by Florentino Pérez and co.

As per a report from German football insider Florian Plettenberg:

‘Understand in the event of a dismissal (which Real Madrid are keen to avoid), Jürgen Klopp is among the candidates.’
