In a recent report, The Sun mentioned that Real Madrid could join the race for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi this January. It has been revealed that Los Blancos would have to rival Liverpool and Barcelona in the race to land the English centre-back next year.
Guehi has made a solid start to this campaign as he has already put in a few impressive displays for the Eagles on the defensive end of the pitch. The English defensive ace played in six matches for Crystal Palace this season, scoring one goal in all competitions.
The 25-year-old has done well to make 5 tackles, 2 interceptions and 13 clearances for the London club in the Premier League so far. He has even distributed the ball accurately from the back after completing 83.9% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at Selhurst Park will run out at the end of this campaign. Hence, Real Madrid would be open to coming to a pre-contract agreement with Guehi this January.

Guehi is a tough-tackling defender who can sense the danger well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive.
The English talent can even play his way out from the back. The gifted centre-back is also a great leader on the pitch. Guehi is currently among the best defenders in the Premier League, but it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga if Los Blancos manage to win the race for him next year.
Guehi would no doubt bring more bite and steel to Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso’s defence. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the Madrid club.
At 25, Guehi has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Los Blancos to consider in this transfer window. Therefore, Real Madrid would be wise to go all out to get him on board when the transfer window reopens in January.
