Real Madrid’s concerns around Kylian Mbappe continue to grow, and fresh comments from Spanish media have only added to the uncertainty surrounding the French forward’s return.

Speaking recently on Radioestadio Noche, journalist Alberto Pereiro shed light on Mbappe’s situation.

He explained that while the Real Madrid forward could potentially make it to a hypothetical Spanish Super Cup final, he would not be operating at full capacity.

It must be noted that Mbappe’s injury has hit Real Madrid harder than initially expected.

This is not viewed internally as a minor setback. Instead, it is another blow in a season already disrupted by recurring physical problems across the squad.

The Frenchman will definitely miss Sunday’s league match against Real Betis, and the focus has now shifted entirely to when he might realistically return.

When will he return?

At present, Mbappe represents Real Madrid’s biggest doubt ahead of the Spanish Super Cup.

The club has confirmed that he is dealing with a knee sprain, an issue serious enough to rule him out of the upcoming La Liga fixture.

Beyond that, everything remains uncertain. His availability for the Super Cup is neither confirmed nor dismissed.

Inside Real Madrid, there is a clear message of caution. No one is offering guarantees, but no one is closing the door either.

The club acknowledge that, under normal circumstances, Mbappe would not be risked in the Super Cup given his condition.

However, they are leaving room for a late decision depending on how his recovery progresses.

The medical staff and the player himself are still assessing the situation on a day-by-day basis.

According to the club’s explanation, neither Mbappe nor the doctors can predict how his knee will respond in the coming days.

His potential participation depends on several factors, including pain levels, stability, and overall physical response during training.

There is some optimism that he could be available for the final, but even that scenario comes with a major caveat. Should Mbappe make it back in time, he would not be at 100% fitness.
