Liverpool have delivered an underwhelming campaign following their 20th league title win last season.
Pressure has built on Arne Slot as results and performances have continued to disappoint, but there are clearly deeper issues at Anfield.
The Reds went 1-0 up after only six minutes against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon but could not capitalise and ended up once again dropping points to one of the most out-of-form sides in the league.
Boos rang around Anfield multiple times during the draw, and it is clearer than ever that change is needed this summer.
The Reds aren’t the only club in crisis though, and issues at Real Madrid could lead to a €120 million deal.
Los Blancos have faced several issues both on and off the pitch, but a recent training ground bust up between Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde captured the headlines.
It wasn’t the first time the two have clashed in training, but Valverde was hospitalised after the dispute and the situation in Valdebebas is more chaotic than ever.
The man that Real Madrid believe could be the solution in the midfield next season is Ryan Gravenberch, who only recently signed an extended deal at Anfield.
That’s according to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, who claim a bid of around €120 million (~£105m) is being considered by the Spanish giants.
The idea would be to move on one of Tchouameni or Valverde, more than likely the former, and replace them with Gravenberch in order to ease tension off the pitch and improve performances on it.
There is little desire to see Gravenberch leave Anfield this summer, that was made clear when his deal was extended to 2032, but such a fee could be hard to turn down in a summer where Liverpool need to invest in the squad.
The Reds have also been repeatedly linked with Tchouameni, so the Frenchman could become a makeweight in a deal for Gravenberch.
