According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Ferland Mendy has no intention of leaving Real Madrid, despite growing congestion in his position and the club’s desire to move him on.
It must be noted that the French full-back remains under contract with Los Blancos until 2027 and, for now, he is determined to see out his deal in Madrid.
This position comes at a time when the club is actively reviewing their options at left-back and are expected to once again open the door for Mendy’s exit in the summer.
Whether that door is used, however, depends entirely on the player.
The situation at left-back has become one of the most complex puzzles for Real Madrid’s sporting department.
As things stand, the squad includes Alvaro Carreras, Fran Garcia, and Mendy as natural options for the role.
On top of that, Eduardo Camavinga has once again shown, most recently against Rayo Vallecano, that he can comfortably operate on the left side of defence when needed.

Real Madrid already made a major investment in the position last summer with the signing of Carreras from Benfica, paying a substantial €50 million to secure his arrival.
Internally, the plan has been clear for some time. According to the aforementioned outlet, both Garcia and Mendy were seen as potential departures to balance the squad and reduce overcrowding.
Garcia even came close to leaving during the January transfer window, but Real Madrid ultimately blocked his exit.
That leaves Mendy as the central issue. Within the club, his departure would make the most sense in terms of squad planning. However, the player’s position is very clear in his position.
Despite limited continuity, injuries in recent seasons, and increased competition, Mendy has no plans to seek a move elsewhere.
Understandably, this creates a delicate situation, as forcing an exit is not straightforward, especially with a contract running until 2027.
At the same time, carrying multiple left-backs risks reducing minutes, disrupting squad harmony, and limiting opportunities.
