Having picked up their first win under Alvaro Arbeloa, Real Madrid return to action on Tuesday night when they take on AS Monaco in the UEFA Champions League.

Leading up to the big game at the Santiago Bernabeu, the Merengues held their final training session today, and there was some welcome news for the manager.

Rodrygo, Lunin back in training

Indeed, according to journalist Melchor Ruiz of COPE, Rodrygo Goes and Andriy Lunin are back in training, suggesting they could be available to face Monaco in the Champions League tomorrow.

Rodrygo has missed Real Madrid’s last two matches against Albacete and Levante due to physical problems he picked up during the Spanish Super Cup.

The Brazilian attacker’s involvement for tomorrow’s European encounter was also seen as a doubt, but he has now recovered and resumed training.

As for Lunin, the Ukrainian goalkeeper was not available for the weekend La Liga clash vs Levante after picking up calf discomfort following the cup tie against Albacete.

While it was initially expected that he could be out for a little over a week, Lunin is back in training today and appears set to return to the squad.

Five players unavailable

However, Real Madrid will still be without as many as five players for the game against AS Monaco tomorrow.

Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy, and Trent Alexander-Arnold are still recovering from their injury issues and did not train with the squad today.

Meanwhile, Brahim Diaz has yet to rejoin the camp after his involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations, where his Morocco team fell at the final hurdle last night against Senegal.
