Having just about managed to defeat Rayo Vallecano last weekend, Real Madrid will look to pick up a convincing win when they face Valencia on Sunday night.

Visiting Mestalla is never an easy proposition and the challenge is made even harder for Los Blancos as they will be without two key players for the game – Vinicius Jr. (suspension) and Jude Bellingham (injury).

In addition, there are some concerns about the fitness of Raul Asencio as well, while Eder Militao remains unavailable.

Rodrygo also a doubt

Now, piling on the problems, journalist Javi Herraez on Carrusel reports that Rodrygo is also a doubt for the game against Valencia.

The 25-year-old Real Madrid forward did not participate in the group training session today and worked indoors, casting doubts over his availability to face Valencia at Mestalla on Sunday.

Rodrygo was tipped to be the replacement for Vinicius on the left flank against Los Che this weekend, but his potential absence poses a selection dilemma for manager Alvaro Arbeloa.

So far this season, the Brazilian international has made 26 appearances across all competitions, with a modest return of three goals and six assists.

With still a few days left for the match, Arbeloa will hope to have Rodrygo back to full fitness and available for the trip to Valencia.

In case he is not fully fit, Arbeloa has the option of moving Kylian Mbappe to the left wing and going with Gonzalo Garcia as the centre-forward position.

Meanwhile, the report also states that David Alaba also did not train normally due to a fever. Veteran duo Antonio Rudiger and Dani Carvajal, on the other hand, worked at a lower pace than the rest of the group.
