Real Madrid are planning to build on the four signings already made by adding further new players to Jose Mourinho’s squad as the summer goes on. The idea is for a top-level midfielder to arrive, while there is also a desire to sign another forward player to play alongside the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.
Michael Olise is the desired target, but in order to preserve their good institutional relations with Bayern Munich, it’s unlikely that Real Madrid will make an attempt to sign him this summer. Instead, alternatives have been considered, and one of those is RB Leipzig’s rising star Yan Diomande.
The 19-year-old, who already has Spanish football experience with Leganes, has been tracked by Real Madrid during the 2026 World Cup, where he has been in action for Ivory Coast. Furthermore, he’s said to prefer a move to the Bernabeu over Liverpool, but unfortunately for those at the Bernabeu, there is one club ahead of them in the race: Paris Saint-Germain.
According to The Athletic (via MD), Diomande has made it clear that he favours joining PSG over any other club, including Real Madrid. The back-to-back European champions are already moving to close an agreement with Leipzig, as they seek a swift end to the saga.
For the last couple of years, right wing is a position that has had some concerns surrounding it at Real Madrid. Rodrygo Goes prefers to play on the left, and while Brahim Diaz has done well there when called upon, there appears to be a desire to solve the issue with a world class addition.
Real Madrid may well explore a future move for Olise, but in the meantime, they are likely to persevere with the likes of Brahim, Rodrygo, Franco Mastantuono and Endrick Felipe.
