Real Madrid remain in talks with RB Leipzig over a deal to sign Yan Diomande after an opening offer of £85.4m was rejected.
The Spanish side have entered the race to sign Diomande with their first proposal turned down over the weekend. Real Madrid offered an initial fee of £76.9m, with a further £8.5m in add-ons, but the bid was rejected.
Leipzig are determined to hold onto Diomande for another season at least, despite intense interest from Europe's top teams.
Liverpool had an offer for the 19-year-old rejected earlier this summer and remain open to a deal, while Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Manchester City are all watching the situation closely.
According toSky Sports, Real Madrid are now frontrunners to secure the Ivorian and have already agreed personal terms with the player.
Jose Mourinho wants to add Diomande to his squad in what has been a busy summer of recruitment for the returning head coach.
Los Blancos have signed Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate, Marc Cucurella and Bernardo Silva in an impressive window, with a new winger the next focus.
Real's interest in Diomande comes as Arsenal explore a deal for Vinicius Junior. The Premier League champions have made contact with Real Madrid to discuss whether a deal for the Brazil international is possible.
