This could be a season-defining week for Real Madrid as they prepare for two high-profile encounters in the coming days.
Xabi Alonso’s men kick things off with a UEFA Champions League encounter against Juventus on Wednesday night, before taking on arch-rivals FC Barcelona in La Liga on Sunday.
Leading up to the two matches, Real Madrid have been sweating over the availability of some key players dealing with injuries – one of whom happens to be captain Dani Carvajal.
However, in a major boost, Mundo Deportivo confirms that Carvajal trained with the group today.
Indeed, the veteran right-back returned to the pitch at Valdebebas with the rest of the squad as Real Madrid completed their preparations for tomorrow’s Champions League match against Juventus at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The captain joined the group for the start of the session, surprising many with his presence. Although Carvajal is unlikely to be ready for tomorrow’s fixture, he could be fit in time for El Clasico on Sunday, 26 October.
Carvajal has been out for close to a month now, having suffered a calf injury in the derby against Atletico Madrid in late September. Initial prognosis suggested he would be touch-and-go for the Clasico, but it appears likely that he will be available come Sunday.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, is expected to be available for Alonso. The Englishman trained with the group for the second consecutive day and appears ready to face Juventus and, more importantly, Barcelona at the weekend.
Those ruled out for tomorrow’s match include Antonio Rudiger, Dean Huijsen, David Alaba, and Ceballos.
The first two did not step onto the pitch, while the midfielder trained alone. Both Huijsen and Ceballos are working with the aim of recovering in time for El Clasico.
