Real Madrid handed golden chance as Liverpool mainstay nears summer exit – report | OneFootball

Real Madrid are once again active as they plan their next rebuild, and a fresh opportunity may have emerged from Liverpool. 

With the English side preparing for a significant squad overhaul, midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has unexpectedly found himself at the centre of transfer speculation.

According to an update from OK Diario, the Argentine international is no longer considered untouchable at Anfield. 

Reports from England suggest Liverpool could be open to letting him leave this summer as part of a reset following a disappointing campaign.

An old target

Mac Allister has been linked with Real Madrid in previous transfer windows, but those rumours never progressed into concrete negotiations. 

Now, however, the situation appears different.

Despite having a contract running until 2028, there are indications that Liverpool are willing to listen to offers, especially if they recover part of the €42 million investment they made when signing him.

Furthermore, there are several other factors driving this possibility. 

To begin with, the midfielder’s form has dipped compared to expectations, and there have been no discussions regarding a contract renewal. 

Combined with Liverpool’s need to generate funds for new signings, this creates a realistic scenario where Mac Allister could be moved on.

What about Real Madrid?

From Real Madrid’s perspective, the interest is logical, as the club is actively looking to strengthen its midfield options, particularly after another trophyless season. 

However, while Mac Allister is on their radar, he is not currently the top priority, as profiles such as Rodri and Enzo Fernandez are reportedly more appealing to the Madrid hierarchy. 

That said, Mac Allister presents a different kind of opportunity. 

If Liverpool lower their demands, Real Madrid could view him as a value signing – a technically gifted midfielder with Premier League experience and international pedigree.
