Real Madrid have chosen their new no.10 | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid have made a call on the player set to inherit the club’s famed no.10 jersey.

That’s according to ESPN, who point towards Kylian Mbappé as the player in question.

The iconic 10 of course recently became available at the Santiago Bernabéu for the first time in several years.

As much comes after the jersey’s most recent owner, Luka Modrić, departed following the expiration of his contract.

Several leading members of Xabi Alonso’s ranks, in turn, had been labelled as contenders to take up the honour of securing the squad number previously held by the likes of Luís Figo and Mesut Özil.

The name most frequently pushed, though, was that of the aforementioned Kylian Mbappé.

In turn, it should not come as a major surprise to hear of ESPN this week reporting that:

‘Kylian Mbappé will wear the No. 10 jersey at Real Madrid next season, switching from the No. 9 he wore in his debut campaign with the club.’
