Real Madrid have had a very busy summer transfer window, and there is no doubt that the fans would be very happy with their club having made up to six new additions to ensure they do not have to go another season without a major trophy.
One notable aspect of the club’s activity in this transfer window was its greater emphasis on experience. The first four of the Merengues’ signings, Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, and Bernardo Silva, are all highly experienced players. Meanwhile, the club has also brought in one of the most exciting young talents in Europe, Yan Diomande, and another highly promising Spanish forward, Carlos Espi.
These two youngsters thus join the several other highly promising talents already present at the club. The abundance of this high-quality youth talent at Real Madrid is quite clear from the presence of four players associated with the club in the list of candidates for the Golden Boy award for this year, published by Tuttosport.
The highest-ranked of these four Los Blancos players is Yan Diomande, who is placed 4th in the list. The second-highest is Endrick, who is ranked 9th. The next two players are Franco Mastantuono and Thiago Pitarch, who are placed on the 41st and 42nd spots respectively.
Other prominent names on the list include Lamine Yamal, Warren Zaire-Emery, Pau Cubarsi, and Ayyoub Bouaddi. The list currently features 100 names, but Tuttosport will continue trimming it on a monthly basis, and the final winner will be selected from a final list of 20 players.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward Desire Doue is the current holder of the award. This year, competition is going to be once again fierce for the Golden Boy award, and it remains to be seen whether one of these four Real Madrid players will be able to lay his hands on it.
