Real Madrid are planning to sign a left-back in the summer transfer window, with Alphonso Davies being their preferred target.
After all, the Canadian international, one of the best in his position, will see his contract at Bayern Munich expire on June 30 and can be signed for free.
However, recent reports have suggested that the move for Davies could fall through as the 24-year-old is still in talks with Bayern over a renewal.
It has led to speculations that Real Madrid are looking at alternatives for their primary target and former defender Theo Hernandez is an option.
Theo Hernandez is going through a difficult moment at AC Milan and there is some friction between him and manager Paulo Fonseca, who has dropped the left-back from the starting XI in recent matches.
It has only served to fuel the speculation about a possible return to Real Madrid if Davies does not arrive.
However, according to Defensa Central, despite the many rumours emerging from Italy, Real Madrid arenot consider signing Hernandez at this point.

On the contrary, the Spanish capital club insists that they are only interested in Davies.
Furthermore, “right now, we are very happy with Fran García and we are looking forward to the return of the best Mendy,” is the message coming from the club regarding the left-back position.
This statement clearly leaves no room for Hernandez in the near future. Therefore, it seems that the Frenchman’s return to Real Madrid will have to wait.
The 27-year-old Hernandez, for his part, is also said to be keen on continuing at Milan and signing a new contract, with his current one expiring in 2026.
So, as things stand, the chances of a reunion between Real Madrid and Theo appear to be non-existent.
