It is no secret that Real Madrid are gearing up for a busy 2026. The club have their task cut out as they look to shore up their ranks in the defensive unit, with the team already monitoring multiple centre-backs.

However, aside from signing a central defender, Real Madrid are also keeping an eye on the fullback market, as they do not rule out the sale of either Fran Garcia and Ferland Mendy.

Keeping that in mind, the club are scouring through multiple options in the market, though they have recently chosen to let go of former youth player Alex Jimenez and are set to receive around €10 million for his permanent move to Bournemouth.

Real Madrid’s desired left-back target

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid have already picked their ideal target in the left-back position, in case Mendy or Garcia leave the club in the summer.

The player in question is Nathaniel Brown, a 22-year-old German left-back plying his trade for Eintracht Frankfurt.

A product of the Nuremberg youth academy, Brown joined Eintracht in 2024, and since then, he has become an ever-present figure in the club’s defensive line, notably racking up 62 appearances in all competitions.

Brown has impressed onlookers with his athleticism and ability to win back possession on the flanks. This is coupled with his attacking flair, making him one of the most sought-after fullbacks in the German market right now.

Real Madrid, too, are more than aware of Brown’s qualities and believe they can sign him for just €20-25 million next summer, even though his contract at Eintracht Frankfurt doesn’t expire until 2030.

Real Madrid are hoping to earn a similar amount through the sale of Fran Garcia, although there is no presently no rush. The club are aware the season is not yet over and a lot can happen in the remaining months.
