Real Madrid insiders informed managerial target about Valverde-Tchouameni bust-up | OneFootball

According to a recent report from AS, Real Madrid managerial target Jose Mourinho was informed from within the Spanish club about the explosive altercation involving Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni.

The current Benfica coach is viewed as one of Real Madrid’s leading managerial targets as the club looks for solutions to what is becoming an increasingly unstable atmosphere in the dressing room.

The outlet claims Mourinho received detailed information about the incident directly from people connected to the Spanish club. 

The version presented to him reportedly blamed Valverde more heavily for repeatedly accusing Tchouameni of leaking dressing room information externally.

At the same time, criticism was also reportedly directed towards Alvaro Arbeloa for failing to properly control the situation. 

Concerns were raised internally about the manager’s lack of experience after he allegedly failed to separate the players or calm tensions during heated moments on the pitch.

So what now?

The fact that Mourinho was updated about the situation on multiple occasions during the week has only increased rumours that Real Madrid may already be preparing the ground for his return to the Santiago Bernabeu.

As such, there is a growing concern regarding the lack of leadership within the Real Madrid dressing room.

Sources close to Valdebebas claim tensions between players have become increasingly common throughout the season, with disagreements and divisions repeatedly surfacing behind closed doors.

The club’s hierarchy is now believed to be prioritising a manager capable of immediately restoring authority, discipline, and unity inside the squad. 

That profile is one of the main reasons Mourinho’s name has rapidly moved to the top of the shortlist.

The Portuguese coach already knows the pressure and demands that come with managing Real Madrid, having previously enjoyed success during his time at the club. 

More importantly, many within Madrid believe his strong personality could help stabilise a dressing room that has become fractured over the course of the campaign.

Although no official negotiations have been confirmed publicly, people close to Mourinho reportedly see a return to Madrid as a genuine possibility. 

The veteran manager is believed to feel ready for another challenge at the Bernabeu and confident he can rebuild the competitive mentality that has slowly disappeared inside the current squad.
