Star pair had to be separated after training ground brawl before El Clasico
Real Madrid have confirmed that they will open “disciplinary proceedings” after a fight broke out between Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde in training on Thursday.
The pair were reported earlier in the day to have gone at each other during the session, with Valverde reportedly leaving the training ground in a wheelchair and headed for hospital.
Crisis talks were held in the afternoon by president Florentino Perez, with punishments expected for both parties.
Now, in an official statement on the Madrid website, the club have responded.
“Real Madrid C. F. announces that, following the incidents that occurred this morning during the first team's training session, it has decided to open disciplinary proceedings against our players Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouameni,” the statement read.
“The club will provide updates on the resolutions of both proceedings once the corresponding internal procedures have been completed.”

It is another twist in a majorly turbulent week for Alvaro Arbeloa’s side, who are preparing for ‘El Clasico’ this weekend against Barcelona, who could clinch the La Liga title with a result against their fierce rivals.
Kylian Mbappe had already been in the headlines after over 30 million fans reportedly signed a petition saying that they wanted the French forward out of the club.
The 27-year-old is currently out with a hamstring injury, which leaves him a doubt for this weekend’s game, and further questions were asked when he was spotted on holiday while his team-mates played Espanyol in the league.
