La Liga giants Real Madrid will be forced to part with a historic fee if they hope to secure the signing of Chelsea star Enzo Fernández this summer.

This comes amid the understanding that the Stamford Bridge brass are ready to put a financial wall up around their engine room standout.

The name of Argentine international Enzo has of course long taken its place centre stage in the transfer chatter surrounding Real Madrid.

Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the middle of the park with a view to next season, the former Benfica standout has been tipped as a leading target at the Bernabéu.

After Enzo himself hinted at his interest in taking his talents to Spain’s capital last month, speculation surrounding a potential joining of forces then only ramped up.

As alluded to above, though, if Real Madrid are serious about a deal for Enzo, then they will need to pay up…

As per a report from journalist Ben Jacobs, whilst the player is indeed keen on a move to La Liga, Chelsea are ready to demand close to €140 million for his signature.
