If Real Madrid are to have any hope of winning La Liga this season, nothing but a win against Girona will do.
Fede Valverde has stepped up once again for Alvaro Arbeloa but another midfielder has levelled things up at the Bernabéu.
The Uruguayan midfielder picked up the ball 25 yards out and let fly at Girona goalkeeepr Paulo Gazzaniga.
The former Spurs man should have done far better with the ball going right at him but his bizarre attempt at a save only aided with helping the ball into the back of his net.
It made it four league games in a row in which Valverde has now scored in.
In addition to his stunning hat-trick against Manchester City, it means the 27-year-old has scored seven of his nine goals this season in the last month!
However, Real's joy was short-lived equalised just 11 minutes later with a brilliant strike from distance, which would have been equally celebrated by their neighbours.
Can Valverde and co. seal a crucial win or will the title be as good as Barcelona's by tonight?
