Real Madrid added extra depth to their squad this summer, with four new signings arriving to the tune of €167.5m, and the promotion of Gonzalo Garcia Torres. There were just two exits in the form of Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez though, and they could look to trim their squad in January.

Earlier this week it was reported that Real Madrid had met with Vinicius Junior’s agent at Valdebebas, in a previously unscheduled meeting. It was also leaked that no progress was made towards a new deal for the Brazilian superstar, but it seems that he may not have been the main concern of the meeting with Frederico Pena.

Endrick future discussed

According to Cadena Cope, the main topic of discussion was the future of Endrick, who returned to the Real Madrid squad on Saturday after four months out with injury. Their information is that Los Blancos suggested a loan in January for Endrick, in order to get back up to full speed, and get some valuable minutes under his belt, after being used sparingly by Carlo Ancelotti.

Endrick keen to remain at Real Madrid

The 19-year-old forward was also linked with a loan move in the summer, with Real Sociedad, AC Milan and Juventus all willing to provide a temporary home for Endrick. Valencia are the latest to express an interest. However he turned down those offers, choosing instead to fight for his spot under Xabi Alonso. In his eyes, nothing has changed, and he has rejected the idea.

The World Cup question mark

The question is whether this could change in the coming months if he does not receive game time. This time last year, Endrick was in Dorival Junior’s Brazil squad, and Endrick is reportedly aiming to be at the World Cup next year. In a message that many interpreted as being directed at Rodrygo Goes, Ancelotti told the Brazilian media earlier this month that his choices would be based on what happens on the pitch. Clearly Endrick will need to be on one in order to work his way back into consideration.
