Kylian Mbappe was understandably frustrated after Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Mallorca last night, not in terms of the outcome for the team but in terms of his individual display.

The Frenchman was far from poor on the night, and in fact, looked sharper than usual with his movements, finishes and link-up play.

What let him down, however, was the timing of his runs which led to two goals being called offside and thus ruled out.

The player himself, as relayed earlier today, felt robbed of two goals that he saw no reason to annul.

Speaking out loud

After the game at the Santiago Bernabeu, the French talisman did not hold back in taking to his social media to express his disappointment indirectly.

He even took a direct dig at the referees through his move.

Indeed, the Real Madrid star put up a photo of the official VAR image of one of his ruled-out goals, displaying the line marking the last defender and himself, and how barely any part of his body was in front of the line.

As seen in the image a part of the player’s arm and a very minor part of his head are seen ahead of the marked line.

There is a grey area on which of the two was used to calculate the offside, but in any case, the decision was scandalous and against the spirit of the game.

In the end, the French star who gave his all on the field and should have finished with a brace ended goalless, disappointed and furious with the calls.

Nevertheless, the goalless game for him against Mallorca changes nothing with respect to the season he is enjoying for the player has looked sharper than ever before.
