Real Madrid missing several key players against Benfica

Real Madrid will have to make do without several key players in their Champions League playoff against Benfica. Hit by disciplinary sanctions and injuries, the Spanish club will take the field with a depleted squad.

Rodrygo, who was sent off in the last match after receiving two yellow cards, has been handed a two-game suspension and will miss both legs of the tie. The Brazilian will only be eligible to return in the next round, should Madrid progress.

Raúl Asencio will also miss the first leg, suspended due to an accumulation of yellow cards. On top of that, Éder Militão, Antonio Rüdiger, Ferland Mendy, and Jude Bellingham are all sidelined through injury. The Real Madrid vs. Benfica clashes will take place on February 17 and 25.
