Real Madrid now ‘actively pursuing’ deal for Serie A star | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid have identified a member of the defensive ranks at Italian champions Inter Milan as a leading summer transfer target.

The Nerazzurri star in question? Denzel Dumfries.

It is of course widespread knowledge at this point that Real Madrid are on the lookout for reinforcements at right-back with a view to next season.

Ahead of the free agent departure of Dani Carvajal, competition is needed for Trent Alexander-Arnold in José Mourinho’s squad.

And as alluded to above, this week, Florentino Pérez and co. appear to have identified their priority target on the market.

As per a report from The Athletic, with a deal for Ibrahima Konaté now tied up, focus has been shifted towards securing the same with Inter Milan for Denzel Dumfries:

‘Madrid have made Inter Milan’s Dumfries their top target to strengthen at right-back and have held talks with the 30-year-old, who has a €20million (£21.6m; $29.1m) release clause.’

Defender Dumfries is for his part fresh off an injury-hit campaign at San Siro, culminating in five goals and two assists across 28 appearances in all competitions.
