Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella is on the verge of becoming a Real Madrid player. The deal is understood to be all but agreed, with only the final paperwork still outstanding.
While nothing has been officially signed, discussions between the parties are at an advanced stage and there is growing confidence that the transfer will soon be completed.
The potential arrival of Cucurella could trigger a reshuffle within Real Madrid’s options at left-back, reports AS.
The proposed agreement would see Real Madrid pay around €50 million for the Spanish left-back, who is expected to sign a four-year contract.

With his arrival, Real Madrid are now understood to be open to offers for their three current left-backs – Alvaro Carreras, Ferland Mendy, and Fran Garcia.
As per the report, Mourinho wants Cucurella and Carreras to compete for the left-back position, a scenario that places the futures of Mendy and Garcia under serious scrutiny.
Both players are now viewed as potential departures, while Carreras remains highly valued despite speculation surrounding his own future.
The former Benfica starlet is still highly regarded by Mourinho, although the club would listen to exceptional offers for him.
As far as Mendy is concerned, Real Madrid acknowledge that he remains difficult to sell due to his current injury situation, with expectations that he will not return until around November.

Therefore, Garcia’s future appears the most uncertain, especially with his contract running until 2027 and no renewal talks currently progressing.
The Spanish defender had already come close to leaving the Santiago Bernabeu in January, when AFC Bournemouth were pushing to sign him, only for Florentino Perez to block the operation.
However, with now Cucurella also set to join to further increase competition at left-back, the former Rayo Vallecano defender is expected to bid goodbye to Los Blancos.
As for Mendy, a call regarding his future will only be made in 2027, considering that he is unlikely to return to action until later this year.
