Real Madrid fell to their first La Liga defeat of 2026, losing 2-1 at El Sadar to Osasuna, with goals from Ante Budimir, Vinicius Junior and Raul Garcia de Haro.

According to Football Espana, the player ratings underlined errors at the back and a laboured midfield, even as Vinicius provided Madrid’s clearest attacking threat.

Thibaut Courtois conceded the penalty for the opener in unfortunate fashion. Fede Valverde lifted Madrid after the break, setting up Vinicius to equalise, then, after Valverde went off, a late finish settled it.

Dani Carvajal, on his first start since September, struggled against Victor Munoz. David Alaba, making only his second start of the season, also toiled, while Raul Asencio missed a big first half chance and was beaten for the decisive goal. Alvaro Carreras was Madrid’s steadiest defender, containing Ruben Garcia reasonably well.

Aurelien Tchouameni often lacked support as Aimar Oroz broke through midfield. Eduardo Camavinga offered little thrust and Valentin Rosier advanced too freely. Arda Guler looked short of early-season sharpness but went close after the interval.

Kylian Mbappe appeared short of fitness and had a strike ruled out for offside. Trent Alexander-Arnold was bright from the bench yet, like Carvajal, found Munoz troublesome. Brahim Diaz and Dani Ceballos made little impact, and Gonzalo Garcia did not supply the focal point sought.
