Real Madrid have signed off for the September international break with a 2-1 La Liga home win against Mallorca.
Called into action to make a crucial block in the second half but was unable to do much about Vedat Muriqi’s superb opener.
Drafted back in to replace Dani Carvajal and looked like his old self early on. An early assist was chalked off, as Kylian Mbappe was flagged offside by VAR, but a solid return.
Looked nice and solid back in alongside Dan Huijsen as Antonio Rudiger dropped to the bench,
Dealt well with the threat of Muriqi for most of the game and his towering back post header teed up the equaliser for Guler.
Alvaro Carreras – 7
Showed more of his attacking instincts throughout and it was his booming cross that Huijsen laid on for Guler’s goal.
Caught out by Muriqi at a corner for Mallorca but an all-round strong performance at the base of Real Madrid’s midfield.
Continues to be the heartbeat of Alonso’s new-look team and full of running all night.
Right place at the right to grab his first goal of the campaign and was unlucky not to get a second. Impressed once more in the space in behind Mbappe.
Enjoyed himself down the Real Madrid right-side and was unlucky not to tee up Guler. Looks immediately at home in Madrid as Rodrygo remains as a bench option for Alonso.
Got off the mark in Oviedo last time out and looked more like his old self back at the Bernabeu. A brilliant solo winner on the night and seems to have more space with Mbappe, Guler and Mastantuono more structured around him.
Fell foul of VAR twice, with two goals ruled out, and very unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Similarly to Vini Jr, the Frenchman appears clearer in his role, and benefit from that central Gule support.
