La Liga giants Real Madrid are giving real consideration to sending a member of the club’s first-team ranks out on loan this summer.
The player in question? Franco Mastantuono.
Youngster Mastantuono of course made the move to Spain’s capital last summer, in a big-money transfer from River Plate.
The Argentine showcased early flashes of his unquestionable potential, impressing on the right wing.
But as time passed, Mastantuono saw his performances come under increasing scrutiny, with everything from his link-up play to finishing and beyond called into question.
Combined with a string of recent fitness problems, and the 18-year-old’s debut season in Spain has fizzled out to a frankly alarming degree.
And as alluded to above, such woes could yet give rise to a swift Bernabéu departure for Mastantuono…
As per a report from Marca:
‘Given the circumstances, Real Madrid are now seriously considering a scenario that not so long ago seemed unnecessary: letting him go so that, one day, he can return as a different player.’
Los Blancos have been encouraged by Endrick’s return to form in France with Lyon, therefore considering a similar loan move for Mastantuono over the months ahead.
