Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois has on Wednesday spoken out over this weekend’s fast-approaching El Clásico.

This comes fresh off Los Blancos making it four wins from four across all competitions this evening.

Xabi Alonso’s troops marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming Italian heavyweights Juventus to Spain’s capital for a Champions League clash.

When all was said and done, a solitary Jude Bellingham goal proved all that separated the sides, marking Real Madrid’s 2nd 1-0 victory in the space of four days.

The capital outfit, however, will have little time to celebrate their latest triumph.

Next up this weekend is a La Liga showdown with arch rivals Barcelona, pitting 1st against 2nd in Spain’s top-flight.

Last season, it was the latter who dominated the Clásico, racking up four wins from four.

This time round, though, the aforementioned Thibaut Courtois evidently envisions things playing out differently, having explained on Wednesday:

“El Clásico? It will be a great game, and really important. I expect us to win, but of course we respect the opponent.”
