An alarming statistic surrounding the recent production of Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé in the final third has come to the fore online.

This comes after the Frenchman’s latest blank in front of goal on Sunday.

Los Blancos were of course back in action yesterday evening, locking horns with Sevilla in a La Liga clash.

Frontman Mbappé marked his return to starting duties for the fixture, after a fresh spell on the sidelines over recent weeks.

En route to an eventual 1-0 triumph for Real Madrid, though, the 27-year-old failed to find the net for the third appearance running.

And such shortcomings, as alluded to above, have since given rise to an altogether noteworthy statistic.

As revealed by journalist Albert Ortega in the aftermath of Sunday’s clash, Mbappé’s last 47 shots at goal across all competitions have given rise to just three goals.

Despite as much, the former PSG standout looks all set to secure the Pichichi award as La Liga’s top scorer, leading the way by two goals with just a single round of fixtures to play.
