Real Madrid star included in UCL Team of the Week | OneFootball

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid did enough to secure for himself a place in the latest official Champions League Team of the Week.

The player in question? Aurélien Tchouaméni.

Real Madrid were of course back in action on Wednesday night, welcoming Benfica to Spain’s capital for the 2nd leg of the Champions League playoff tie between the clubs.

When all was said and done, Los Blancos emerged on the right side of a 2-1 result, to march on to the Last-16 courtesy of a 3-1 aggregate triumph.

The aforementioned Aurélien Tchouaméni for his part featured from the off in the matchup, from his customary berth deep in midfield.

And the 26-year-old went on to play a starring role in his side’s victory, shining on both sides of the ball.

The highlight of his performance came during the first-half, when Tchouaméni dragged Real Madrid level courtesy of a fine strike.

And as alluded to above, such exploits have proven enough for the former AS Monaco standout to carve out a place in UEFA’s Champions League Team of the Week:
