Real Madrid star limps off with injury vs Marseille | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Tuesday night been dealt a blow on the personnel front.

As much came within the opening exchanges of the club’s meeting with Olympique Marseille.

Real Madrid are of course currently locked in action on the continent.

In their opening fixture of the new Champions League campaign, Xabi Alonso’s troops have welcomed the aforementioned Marseille to the Santiago Bernabéu.

As alluded to above, though, mere minutes into the clash, Los Blancos were dealt an injury setback.

After being restored to starting duties for the evening, Trent Alexander-Arnold pulled up with what appeared to be a muscular complaint.

After being tended to by the hosts’ medical team, it quickly became clear that the Englishman was in no condition to continue.

Alexander-Arnold, in turn, was hauled off, replaced in Xabi Alonso’s backline by Dani Carvajal.

It now remains to be seen if the summer arrival in Spain’s capital is facing up to any kind of prolonged incoming spell on the sidelines.
