Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has on Tuesday secured for himself an impressive piece of Champions League history.

This comes owing to the Brazilian’s exploits in Los Blancos’ latest outing.

Real Madrid were of course back in action a short time ago, making the trip to The Etihad for a Champions League Last-16 2nd-leg meeting with Manchester City.

When all was said and done, the Spaniards emerged on the right side of a 2-1 result, to romp to a 5-1 aggregate triumph.

And it was the aforementioned Vinícius who proved himself match-winner.

After first slotting home a penalty during the first-half, the 25-year-old rounded out a brace courtesy of a left-footed volley inside the game’s closing moments.

And in the process, Vinícius overtook a pair of football icons in an impressive goalscoring category.

As per StatMuse on ‘X’, the gifted winger has now netted more doubles in outings in the Champions League than both Luis Suárez and Wayne Rooney.
