Real Madrid star responds to Atlético attacker being blamed for his injury | OneFootball

Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal has responded to suggestions on the part of fans that Atlético Madrid frontman Nico González is responsible for his injury setback.

Defender Carvajal was for his part of course condemned to a fresh spell on the sidelines over the weekend.

This came after the 33-year-old was forced into a premature departure from his side’s heavy derby day defeat at the hands of Diego Simeone’s Atlético.

Carvajal is expected to be unavailable for selection for a period of around four weeks.

In the aftermath of the Metropolitano clash, many, chiefly of a Real Madrid persuasion, have since questioned whether their defensive star’s injury may have been suffered by way of a challenge on the part of the aforementioned Nico González.

As much comes after Carvajal was left grounded and in evident pain after being floored by Nico late in the first-half.

After arriving at Valdebebas for a round of medical treatment on Monday morning, the former, in turn, was asked if he considers the Atlético summer signing to be responsible for his injury.

Carvajal, though, assured:

“I don’t attribute the injury to Nico’s challenge.”
