Trent Alexander-Arnold has not had a straightforward start to life at Real Madrid since arriving from Liverpool in June.
Inconsistent form, competition for places, and fitness issues have meant that the 27-year-old right-back has been unable to nail down a place in the team under Xabi Alonso.
Even though he had been fit in recent weeks when Dani Carvajal was out, the Real Madrid boss had resorted to using Federico Valverde over Trent.
The primary reason behind this move was that the England star had not reached 100% fitness since returning from a hamstring injury.
Now, according to The Athletic, Trent is eager to take a step forward after a stop-start beginning at Real Madrid.

To that end, he made use of the recent holidays during the international break to travel to Dubai and do some warm weather training with specialists.
With Trent not being called up for the England national team and Alonso granting his players a few days off until today, the 27-year-old right-back opted to fly to Dubai and train with specialists to improve his fitness.
The defender has been going through a specific plan to get into shape, much like his teammate and close friend Jude Bellingham did during the previous international break.
With Carvajal sidelined until the new year, Trent will be hoping to get more minutes moving forward in the aim of establishing himself as Real Madrid’s starting right-back under Alonso.
