Three games into the season, Real Madrid have made a positive start, winning each of them, sitting at the top of the La Liga standings.
New signing Dean Huijsen has excelled while Arda Guler has impressed in his new role in the middle of the park.
But Kylian Mbappe has been the star performer for Real Madrid in the early part of the season, and, as such, has been voted the club’s Player of the Month for August.
The French megastar has scored three goals in as many La Liga games this term, and has even had a few ruled out by officials.
After receiving the Player of the Month award for August at Valdebebas earlier today, Mbappe briefly spoke to the club media, where he thanked the fans for voting for him.
“Thank you very much to all the fans who voted for me to receive this award. It’s good to start the year like this, with three wins, with goals, and with the joy of playing every day,” he said.
The France captain, who recently became the second-highest goalscorer for the national team, insisted that he was keen to help the team build on this momentum.
“I’m eager to help the team, to have the opportunity to compete for as many titles as possible with Real Madrid,” he said.
“Let’s keep going like this, because we have a lot of matches in September, and I hope we continue with the same winning streak.”
Mbappe also previewed Real Madrid’s La Liga clash against Real Sociedad coming up tomorrow, saying:
“It’s always a tough match. We know away games are always difficult, but we’re ready. We’ve prepared well and recovered well from our international matches. We’re ready to compete again and try to win.”
Concluding, the former PSG forward added: “We play football for these kinds of games. We play the games everyone wants to play. We’re going to try to win and bring joy to everyone, as always.”
