Real Madrid superstar yet to sign renewal as some details still need to be finalised – report | OneFootball

Real Madrid fans have been waiting for official confirmation of Vinicius Jr.’s contract extension, but as per a fresh update from El Chiringuito TV, the deal has not been signed yet.

Despite reports going back to April suggesting that an agreement was close, there are still some small details left to finalise before the renewal can be made official.

Vinicius, who is under contract until 2027, had expressed his wish to stay at the club for several more years. The idea was to extend his deal further by two or three seasons, especially with interest from Saudi Arabian clubs offering him massive wages.

But the Brazilian forward has made it clear that his heart is still in Madrid, and he wants to continue growing with the team.

Minor issues holding up a mega deal

Spanish journalist Josep Pedrerol explained that although the deal is very close, it’s not final. “It was almost done, almost settled… When they return from the Club World Cup, they want to solve it,” Pedrerol revealed.

“He hasn’t signed it yet, but there won’t be any problems. It’s just a matter of ironing out the final points.”

The new deal, once completed, is expected to make Vinicius Jr. the highest-paid player in the squad. His last contract, signed in 2022, was worth €75 million over five years, around €15 million per season.

Under the terms of the upcoming renewal, Vinicius would reportedly earn close to €20 million net annually.

This would place him ahead of even Kylian Mbappe in terms of base salary, as the French forward is currently earning around €15 million per season.

It is a clear message from Real Madrid that they see Vinicius as the present and future of the club, and they are ready to reward him for his loyalty and performances.

Once the Club World Cup concludes, fans can expect the final announcement, but all signs suggest Vinicius will remain in white for many more years.
