According to Onda Cero, Real Madrid are set to renew long-term deals with Adidas and Fly Emirates, with agreements in principle already in place and sign-off due in the coming weeks. Including HP as sleeve sponsor, the package would be worth €300m per season once finalised.

Adidas remains the kit supplier and Fly Emirates the main shirt sponsor, and both have accepted Madrid’s request to increase their payments. The new contracts would keep them with the club until 2031.

That valuation would make Madrid’s shirt the most lucrative in world football, ahead of Barcelona and Manchester United.

Florentino Perez and his board have excelled at generating income, and these renewals should allow extra funds to be used this summer.

Alvaro Arbeloa’s squad needs significant reinforcements, notably a centre-back and a central midfielder.

Off the pitch it remains a good time to be associated with Madrid, but they must show it on the pitch after an incredibly disappointing 18 months. This summer will start another new era at the Bernabeu, and they cannot afford to get it wrong again.
