Real Madrid ‘to use’ Ancelotti in bid for Rayan, Barcelona in race | OneFootball

Real Madrid are weighing a strong move for Vasco da Gama talent Rayan, with Carlo Ancelotti seen as central to any pitch. Defensa Central reports that Madrid have been closely tracking the forward and could use Ancelotti to help persuade him.

The Italian, currently in charge of Brazil, could be pivotal, with his proximity viewed as a way to help the player chase a 2026 World Cup dream in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Rayan has featured as a left winger, second striker or false 9. He has 20 goals this season, 14 in the Brasileirão, behind only Vitor Roque, Arrascaeta and Kaio Jorge, and five in the Copa do Brasil, where he finished joint top scorer with Kaio Jorge.

Barcelona are also in the frame, while Bayern Munich and Zenit have shown interest. Zenit had an offer of a little over 30 million euros rejected.

Vasco have renewed Rayan’s deal to 2028, lifting his release clause from 50 to 80 million euros, about R$ 507 million.

For any Madrid arrival, internal pieces would need to fall into place. The club are awaiting Vinicius Junior’s renewal and have decided that Endrick will spend the final six months on loan at Olympique de Lyon. With Rodrygo regaining form, an attacking berth would need to open.
