Dani Carvajal is one of a few Real Madrid players whose current contract stands to expire at the end of the ongoing season.
One of the team’s most important players, in terms of leadership and experience, the 34-year-old right-back has lost prominence this term due to physical problems.
Indeed, Carvajal has played only 18 matches in all competitions, clocking only 768 minutes. It has only added to the uncertainty surrounding his future at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Now, according to AS, Carvajal’s ‘absolute priority’ is to stay at Real Madrid, but he will have to wait to learn about a possible renewal.
The physical improvement of the right-back has been evident in recent weeks, and his contribution continues to grow, but the moment to clarify his future has been delayed.

This has already occurred with players such as Nacho Fernandez, Toni Kroos, and Luka Modric, whose futures were decided in the final days of the season. Now it is Carvajal who faces a contract expiry in three months, with no decision yet made.
As the deadline draws closer, various clubs have made enquiries about his plans, but his response has remained consistent – Real Madrid remains his priority.
Nothing has changed, and until a conversation or meeting takes place with the club president, his focus remains entirely on the Spanish capital club.
Real Madrid’s leadership has not yet made a decision. They recognise Carvajal’s importance, but the club has shown in the past that emotional considerations are secondary when difficult decisions must be taken. A resolution is expected in the coming weeks.
